It is a Journey...
...toward Emotional
Well-being
What is well-being? That question has answers that range from a basic sense of okay-ness to the experience of frequent joy. Notice that neither end is absolute. No one achieves perfect or uninterrupted bliss, and no one must live with only sorrows even when there are immense difficulties on one's path. No journey is without discomfort and at times sharp pains; likewise, a journey toward health can be exciting, joyful, and satisfying.
Your well-being is my ultimate concern. Since 1994, I have provided clients in the Spokane, Washington area with a wide range of psychological and counseling services to suit their needs. Now that I am slowing my practice down, I aim to provide a place where you and others can strengthen confidence, build and recover relationships, find solace as you build healthy paths through past events, grief, and future goals, and information or ideas about topics you might be working through in therapy or in your own way. If you are wanting this kind of support from this website, welcome! If you are simply perusing the site for the ideas, humor(sometimes), or the companionship we feel when we know we are not alone, welcome to you as well! Wherever it is you are now, it is totally good enough. Wherever it is you may journey, that will be totally good enough, too.
About
Elisabeth Bennett
I was born and raised in a far northwestern county of California in the heart of the redwoods where solidly good-souled people peppered every aspect of my life. At seventeen I ventured off to college in the shadows of the Uintas. After completing a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Utah and a brief stint in Anchorage, Alaska, I opened a private practice in Spokane, Washington where I have been providing services to individuals, groups, couples, families, businesses, and organizations since 1994 while also teaching for Gonzaga University full-time journeying alongside students earning their master's degrees in counseling. I have been married for over 30 years to my psychiatrist spouse and have loved (almost) every minute of our family life which includes five children who are mostly grown and committed to lives and families of their own. I have spent thousands of hours in service to people from many walks of life, with diverse backgrounds, varied issues, and personal dreams and goals. I value the work I do and treasure every minute spent traveling through client struggles, growth, and successes. I started creating this website and blog to see if I could and to provide a service to anyone who needed it separately from my role as a psychologist. Here, I am not a therapist. I am just another fellow person journeying toward becoming a better version of myself every day.
